Full disclosure, I actually did not pick this outfit for myself. My mom saw it perusing around a T.J. Maxx (as we do in every city we visit) in North Carolina a couple of months ago. I have to admit, I wasn’t immediately sold on it at first glance. Of course I loved the print because it reminded me of all the ginger jars I currently have under my bed, with nowhere to put them. However, the whole crop top, bell sleeve, flared pants with slits situation scared me. All the things I hate wrapped up in one look. I tried it on, packed it my suitcase, took it home, and waited for the day it would officially grow on me. As you can see above, it finally did. It’s especially fun to twirl around in. I can definitely see myself wearing it as separates in future.
So, if there were one lesson to take from this post it would be, don’t be afraid to try something new. It doesn’t have to be something as trivial as clothing, but applied to all aspects of life.
