Houndstooth Suit

h2-edit-2h3-edith5-edit2h4-edith7-edith8-editFinals are officially over. I can finally sit back, relax and enjoy the Christmas break for a week or so before it’s time to start preparing for the next semester. So much to do yet so little time. That is why I’m going to make sure I drink plenty of eggnog, dress like it’s 40 degrees when it’s really 80, and annoy my family to no end by singing Christmas songs 24/7. Sounds like a perfect plan.

I never thought I would be the person to be matchy matchy with a head to toe pattern, but I really like it. Especially during the holiday season. I decided to go with a houndstooth pattern but you could also choose a tartan or plaid which are more holiday appropriate. Some of you may be thinking “Raeven there is just way too much going on for me” and I completely understand. The great thing about separates is that you don’t have to wear them together. Wear the skirt with a solid color sweater or the blazer and have it be the star of the show. It’s definitely up to you and your personal taste.

Like the suit, the mini chandeliers hanging from my ears are also from J. Crew. They catch the light so beautifully with ever twist and turn. I’ve had them for a little while now so I’ve linked a similar version. Under the blazer I wore a simple cream knit sweater and cream over the knee socks to match, paired with my favorite riding boots.

Below I’ve linked some of my favorite holiday separates. Have fun, go crazy, or don’t.
